When You Wish Upon a Star has a simple mission:
“To grant the wishes of children aged 4-16 who live with a
life-threatening illness”
When you register with us, you will receive a When You Wish Upon A Star running top and a fundraising support pack.
Edinburgh Marathon Festival fundraising targets 2026 *

Full Marathon:
Reg donation £25.00 | Fundraising target of £650
Half Marathon:
Reg donation £15.00 | Fundraising target of £300
Hairy Haggis Team Relay:
Reg donation £40 per team | Fundraising target £500 per team
10k:
Reg donation £10.00 | Fundraising target of £150
5k:
Reg donation £10.00 | Fundraising target of £75

Wish Bear would like to ask our Mini Wish granters across all distances to raise a minimum of £35 per person

Why we grant a Wish
We firmly believe every child deserves to smile. The magic of Wishes is that they provide time away for our Wish children and their families, giving them something to look forward to during exceptionally difficult times in their lives.
A Wish has the power to transform their lives, offering excitement and something to focus on.
Wishes come in all forms, much needed respite holidays across the UK, Taylor Swift concerts, being a zookeeper or pilot for the day, meeting celebrities or even something as simple as an iPad to keep in touch with extended family and friends while in hospital. Each experience is tailored as we create life-long precious memories for our families when they might not have thought it could be possible to achieve through illness or disability.
