Top Club and Good For Age Event Information

TOP CLUB

Top Club athletes who have ran a time which meets the below criteria receive complimentary entry.  All athletes must have run a time that meets either the Marathon or Half Marathon criteria since 1st January 2024. You must be within the time criteria to be eligible for a Top Club entry, please do not contact us if you are not fully within the time limit as we will reject your entry.  Please note that Top Club places are only available to British athletes.  Top Club entries close three days before the event date, or as soon as the race is at its maximum capacity.

Start pen allocations are made based on predicted finish time, so a Top Club entry does not guarantee a place in the front start pen.

For a Top Club entry, please select the 'Top Club' entry method during the entry process.  You will be asked for proof of achieving the below criteria, which you will be able to link to your entry. Your entry will be given a 'pending' status until one of the Event Team has checked and approved you for a Top Club entry, which usually happens within a week of you making the entry.  You will be notified by email when your entry has been approved.

Elite wheelchair & Hand bike participants

We welcome wheelchair and hand bike participants to the event, however please note that we cannot offer an elite race for wheelchairs and hand bike users.  Due to the significantly quicker times that can be achieved by an elite wheelchair or hand bike participant, we do not have the resources on course to maintain a safe environment for all participants.  If you are planning to complete the course faster than the minimum allowable time, unfortunately we cannot accommodate your entry.  If your predicted time is within the allowable range we will be delighted to welcome you to the event, and will ensure you have all the support and information you require to participate safely.

PRIZE LIST

The prizes available at the Edinburgh Marathon are shown below. All prizes will be awarded based on gun time.
